WAMfest is soon approaching, with the aim of showcasing the work of talented women in the arts and music.
To celebrate this amazing event, The Gallery Box is holding an open call for creatives, of all ages and different abilities, to enter their work into the exhibition for the month of September. The theme is ‘Women’ and more details can be found by clicking here.
ALSO… We are holding an art competition for under 18s! It’s free to enter and you can download the entry form here. Simply print the page, enter a drawing or painting into the empty frame and drop it into ‘The Gallery Box’, ‘The Waffle Shack’ or ‘Shore Coffee’, at Beach Street Felixstowe. Address: Beach Street Felixstowe, Micklegate Road, Felixstowe, IP11 2GN.
It’s almost time to reopen the doors of The Gallery Box!
Beach Street Felixstowe is an exciting new destination in Suffolk for food and shopping.
The smell of freshly cooked pizza and waffles fill the air, the sun glistens off the large and inviting shop windows, the pavement is clean and welcoming, the environment feels safe and friendly, the list goes on…
Today, was just as I mentioned above and it was wonderful to be siting in the window of The Gallery Box, working on one of my latest commissions. Whilst the public are not allowed to enter the shop, a few people came to the door to discuss the painting.
Over the month of April, I will be at the shop working on an array of commissions and other outstanding artworks. Be sure to pop by once the shop is open to see what is being worked on that day!
It is with great sadness that I must announce the postponement of the open call ‘ My Window’.
The open call has been postponed due to Suffolk being placed into tier four.
The next review of the rules will take place on December 30, but with cases of Covid rising in every region of Suffolk and north Essex, is is unlikely the government would be willing to place Suffolk into a lower tier anytime soon.
BUT, keep painting! This exhibition will still go ahead in 2021, so watch this space for the new dates. I know how frustrating this is, but for now, keep painting, creating and making.
From Friday 18 December (tonight!) Beach Street Felixstowe will be having its first late night shopping event. Open from 5pm – 9pm.
We also have a raffle! The tenants at Beach Street have created a wonderful hamper that can be won by purchasing a strip of raffle tickets. Tickets are being sold by all of the Beach Street traders and all proceeds from ticket sales are being donated to the following three charities:
Level 2 Youth Project Cancer Research UK CLIC Sargent

For this exhibition, simply create an image of a view from your window, or create an image of what you’d like to see from a window, use the theme ‘My window’ to create a piece of art that depicts your interpretation of ‘My window’.
